Marleen "Marlayne" van den Broek urodziła się 1 lipca 1971 roku w Baarn. Jest piosenkarką i prezenterką telewizyjną. Karierę wokalistki zaczynała od śpiewania w chórkach innych wykonawców. 14 marca 1999 roku wygrała holenderski finał narodowy. Utwór One good reason był dość wysoko notowany przed Konkursem w Jerozolimie. Ostatecznie piosenka zdobyła 71 punktów i uplasowała się na 8. miejscu. W kolejnych latach Marlayne kilkakrotnie podawała holenderskie punkty podczas finału Eurowizji. Od 1998 roku mężem wokalistki jest muzyk Danny Sahupala. 2 lipca 2009 roku Marlayne urodziła córeczkę.
